The X-Men are reunited following the death of a teammate, and are summoned by Charles Xavier to Japan following the abduction of Hisako Ichiki (Armor). There, they confront the U-Men, a lunatic cult that steals and transplants mutant organs to further strengthen their own army, and the battle for justice is on.

The anime will premiere on Animax on April 1.

The Japanese television channel Animax has launched a website for MADHOUSE’s anime adaptation of Marvel’s X-Men characters with the first streaming preview commercial. The series will premiere on Animax on April 1. Animax already launched an Iron Man and Wolverine anime, and it is also planning an anime for Marvel’s Blade character. The American network G4 plans to begin running these four titles this year. [via AnimeNewsNetwork].

I really don’t know what to make of this, but I have the feeling those are just clips from the opening. I don’t know if you’ve seen Ironman and Wolverine’s respective anime adaptations, but they are bad, boring as hell, and relate to the original characters as good as eating peanut butter and salmon.

I could not stand the Ironman anime, it made no sense! It has a story, but it’s so full of cliché japanerisms that it’s not even funny anymore.

As for Wolverine, I’m giving it a chance, but it’s hard to imagine this guy as the real Wolverine, and the animation is going from bad to worse in some episodes, totally different from what they showed on the old teasers.

It’s really hard to believe these 2 series belong to Madhouse, the animation is bland and not impressive at all, and the story behind both series is too “Japanese.”

I really hope the X-Men anime is better, but I doubt it will be any better than the other 2.

As for Blade, well, I kind of imagine it will be treated as an adaptation of a samurai story, so I don’t even want to imagine what they will do with it.
