Google Maps: Pokémon Challenge – Possible April Fool’s Prank?

video games

Google released this video about an “update” to Google Maps, where you can battle and catch Pokémon, but isn’t it a bit early to start with the April Fool’s pranks? After all, it’s still March 31st.

Dozens of wild Pokémon have taken up residence on streets, amidst forests and atop mountains throughout Google Maps.

To catch ’em all, grab your Poké Ball and the newest version of Google Maps for iPhone or Android. Then tap the search bar, “press start,” and begin your quest.

What do you think? Chances are this is a very elaborate prank. I wonder how many people will be caught on video doing crazy things with their phones while trying to catch Pokémon.

Now for a very serious question, will anyone be able to catch all 719 Pokémon out there? What, you didn’t think there’s still only 150, did you? You must be still living in the 90s.
