When it comes to fried egg molds, there’s two kinds of people

I’m pretty sure most of use have seen some type of fried egg mold, be it silicone or stainless steel. The thing is, do they work as advertise? Sometimes they do, but the results range from the eggstraordinary, to eggstreme disappointment.

Don’t like the puns? Too bad, I’ve been told I’m quite the yolker.

Anyway, one thing to keep in mind is that all box art lies. Take the pictures on the website for example.

Now, we all know it’s impossible to get a perfect egg like the one in the picture, but chances are that’s note even a real egg, and most likely a rubber piece. If you add that to the fact people don’t read instructions, or just don’t think that lubing up the entire mold is necessary, then you end up with something like this:

I’m honestly not sure this was an actual attempt, or someone just grabbed someone else’s eggs and paired the picture with that of the mold, but I can pretty much assure you that’s how my eggs would end up.

And then there’s people like this who hack the matrix (and use plenty of Pam spray on the mold):
