I don’t think Steve Harvey will host another pageant competition for a while

It was quite an embarrassing scene when he announced the wrong winner during this year’s Miss Universe, and then had to take it back. He announced that the winner was Miss Colombia, but it was really Miss Philippines.

I really felt bad for Miss Colombia, the whole situation was brutally awkward. Her dreams were shattered in a matter of seconds in a live broadcast and in front of thousands of people, both at the event and at home.

I guess he confused “1st runner up” with “1st place.” Anyone could have made that mistake, but he could have taken an extra two seconds to read the whole card. The huge font that says “MISS UNIVERSE 2015” was a dead giveaway.

I wonder if the Colombian delegation will sue.
