Nigeria is offended by “District 9” and has banned the movie. Nigeria’s government is asking cinemas to stop showing a science fiction film, denigrates the country’s image. Because prostitutes and extreme poverty do not exist Nigeria.
Summit Entertainment announced that they’re bringing the Fast & Furious team over to their boat to reboot and re-imagine Highlander. Neal H. Moritz is producing and Justin Lin, who also directed The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, is set to direct. Keep a look out for Vin Diesel screaming your head off and chasing another man with a sword while driving a classic suped-up avoiding big trucks caught on fire all while a street race is going on. Whew! that sounds exciting. All while a hip-hop remix of a Queen song plays in the background. Classic.
Columbia Pictures has begun moving forward with the Ghost Rider sequel and brought on David Goyer to create the story and supervise writers (even though Goyer said “he hadn’t signed on yet”). Goyer last directed The Unborn but is probably better known for writing the Blade trilogy as well as Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. The plans are to apparently base the sequel on a Ghost Rider script that Goyer wrote years ago. That and a Daredevil and Silver Surfer movie have entered the “quiet development” stage. Meaning Development hell.
And for your viewing pleasure, a badass Michael Cane movie. It has a “Taken” feeling to it.
