Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots: The Movie
OK, OK, it’s called “Real Steel,” but watch the trailer first and then you’ll have to agree with me on the name…
Hugh Jackman +Transformers + Rock’em Sock’Em Robots = this film, which I will gladly pay to see instead of that horrible 3rd Bayformers movie.
Believe it or not this is a drama, so in a sense it’s kind of Rocky but with toys, 2,000 pound toys that could kill you.
In the near future, robots have replaced humans in boxing. Charlie Kenton (Jackman) loses a chance to become a boxing champion when robots take over, and he becomes a small-time promoter. When he has difficulty making a living, he reluctantly teams up with his son Max (Goyo) to build a robot that can contend for the championship.
It’s obviously aimed at selling toys, and they pretty much showed the whole movie in the trailer, but I’ll give it a chance, who knows, it might be good enough to make sequels, we need more big robot movies aside the train-wreck that is Trashformers.
