Marvel Comics Reboot: The Marvel and Ultimate Universes will come to an end
Apparently, Marvel’s current event titled “Secret Wars” will result in the end of the Marvel Universe and the Ultimate universe; they will collide, end, and the resulting universe will have elements of both.
During a live “Secret Wars Kick-Off” press event at New York City’s Midtown Comics, Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso and Senior Vice President of Publishing and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort talked about the story line around the 8-issue series Secret Wars.
Another reboot, that’s just what comic fans ask every single day, right? Some fans have taken it well and are actually eager to see what’s gonna happen, while others not so much. This uneasy feeling for some is the result of DC Comic’s New 52 three years ago.
I’m not sure how to feel about a universe that combines things from both universes, mainly because I was never a big fan of the Ultimate universe. In any case, it will sure drive up product sales, especially after they mention all the product-based tie-ins from companies like Hasbro, Diamond Select, Mighty Fine, Funko, Hot Wheels and Marvel’s game division.
I just hope the resulting universe doesn’t mess up Peter Parker’s life any more than they already did.
