Batman gets the anime treatment again in “Batman Ninja”
We finally get to see the first trailer for the upcoming Batman anime movie coming up next year.
The film is being directed by Jumpei Mizusaki, one of the producers of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, with character design by the Afro samurai creator Takashi Ozakazi, and screenplay by Gurren Lagann‘s Kazuki Nakashima, among others.
It’s not the first time Batman gets the anime treatment, or should I say… Batmanime? (☞゚ヮ゚)☞ But seriously, back in 2008 there was a direct to DVD series of shorts under the title Batman: Gotham Knight, and later on the short 3-part animated short Batman of Shanghai.
Some people are already complaining about the upcoming film being in CG instead of traditional animation. Some series like Berserk and one of the newest Cyborg 009 have been hit with a terrible use of CG, to the point of looking extremely cheaply made. In contrast, this is what Batman of Shanghai looked like.
All we can do now is wait and hope the plot and animation works well enough to ignore the fact it’s CG.
Batman Ninja doesn’t have a specific release date yet, but it’s gonna be sometime next year.
