Engadget has posted a very nice review of the ne PS3 slim and has compared it to the older version, or PS3 “phat” if you like.

In general it’s pretty much the same, but with less power consumption and a somewhat slower blu-ray drive, nothing that will make it unusable though.

So what’s in the box?

Price:     $299.99
Color:     Matte Black
HDD:     120GB 2.5-inch SATA
Dimensions:     11.42 x 2.56 x 11.42 in.
Weight:     7.05 lb.
Power:     250W
Vertical Stand:     Optional ($24)
Compatibility:     PSOne
PS2 compatibility:     No
BRAVIA Sync (HDMI-CEC):     Yes
Bundle:     Wireless DualShock 3 controller

The bad thing though is that there’s no backwards compatibility with PS2 games, let’s be honest, the PS2 had a rich library of games, why would we want compatibility with PSOne games only? Also, it no longer supports Linux, for those who installed it on their consoles.

If you want to read the entire review with comparisons and all the good stuff just head over to Engadget.com.
