Milking the “Star Wars” – The “Complete Saga” now for Blu-Ray
Ready for a new, new, new, new, new version of the Star Wars saga? =D
Collectors, rejoice! Regular fans, get mad!
It’s become a rule to release several versions of the Star Wars saga for each video format ever created, and it will continue to be like this until the end of time.
I grew up with this franchise, I like it, I loved the original movies, but come on, how can there be a new collection set every two or three years? They don’t offer anything new for crying out loud!
The truth of the matter is people want the unaltered theatrical collection, if Lucas could provide that I’m sure a ton of fans would gladly cough up the dough for the set no questions asked, but as always this is not the case…
Anyway, the Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu-Ray box set will offer full 1080p video presentations of all six of the films, DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1 surround tracks and more than forty hours of special features, including never-before-seen content from the Lucasfilm archives, commentaries, new footage (how can there still be new footage!?!?) and much more. You can pick-up the entire saga for around $90 on Amazon, or you can get both of the trilogies individually for $40 each.
In addition to releasing this full box set, Lucasfilm has already release an app for iOS called Star Wars Blu-Rays: Early Access that lets you “get an exclusive first look at some of the special features from Star Wars: The Complete Saga” – coming to you on Blu-Ray September 16th.
There you have it, get ready for it and then wait a couple of years for a new newer version with more new footage never seen before. How can there be so much unseen footage???? In any case it might make a good birthday or christmas gift.
May the farce force be with you.
