May the 4th be with you! Happy Star Wars day, even in Quarantine!

On May 4th each year, Star Wars fans around the planet celebrate the made up holiday known as “Star Wars Day.” The date was chosen for the pun on the catchphrase “May the Force be with you” as “May the Fourth be with you”.

Even though it’s a day that’s normally full of different events at convention centers, movie theaters, and other public places, it took a hard hit this year due to the COVID-19 virus, forcing quarantines and social distancing restrictions on all of us, so people will have to find other ways to celebrate.

Virtual events are the norm for the moment, so dust off those old video tapes, dvds, or any other media you have with the original trilogy, prequel trilogy, and even the newer movies if you’re into that.

Speaking of the newer trilogy, The Rise of Skywalker is landing on Disney+ today, 2 full months before its home-video release, so check it out if you missed the theatrical release last year.

Also, Disney also has on pre-order a set of Star Wars themed washable/reusable face masks.

The masks I’m linking to are large, but if you’re looking for medium or small masks, they have more sizes on their face masks page. They don’t ship until June, but you can still pre-order them now.

And finally, for fans of the Mandalorian that need their baby Yoda fix (aka “the child”), LEGO has on pre-order two sets based on the series.

First up is the “Mandalorian and the Child” set for $19.99 on both Amazon and the Official LEGO Shop. This set it starts shipping out on August 1st.

Next is The Razor Crest (75292), which is a 1,023-piece set that includes 5 mini-figures. This set is on pre-order for $129.99 on Amazon and the Official LEGO Shop, and it’s set to start shipping out in September.

On a related note, I still think Disney shot themselves in the foot when they decided to only come up with toys based on “The Rise of Skywalker,” and none for their incredibly successful series, “The Mandalorian.” It only took a few days for the whole “baby Yoda” thing to explode, and even then Disney didn’t have anything Mandalorian-related for the Christmas season.

Anyway, enjoy this day from the comfort of your home, and stay safe.
